Job Description

AI can generate code. We're looking for someone who can tell when that code is wrong.

At Revnology Group (M) Sdn Bhd, we build web and mobile products for Malaysian businesses, including SignageOne, our digital signage SaaS platform. Our work has real users and real consequences. If something breaks, it shows up on a client's screens, and someone has to work out why.

We use AI tools every day, and we expect you to use them too. But we hire people who think first, use AI to move faster, and check what it gives them. We don't hire people who hand the thinking over to it.

What you'll actually do

• Build features across our stack: React.js / Next.js, React Native / Flutter, NestJS / Laravel, and MySQL / PostgreSQL.
• Debug problems that don't have a ready-made answer online. That means reading logs, reproducing issues, and narrowing down the root cause.
• Review code critically, including AI-generated code (yours and your teammates'), for bugs, security issues, and bad assumptions.
• Turn vague requirements from product into clear questions, trade-offs, and tasks.
• Write tests, improve performance, and help with deployment and mobile builds (Expo).
• In code reviews, explain why a change is needed, not just what to change.

You're a good fit if

• You've been stuck on a bug for hours and actually enjoyed finding the cause.
• You've caught an AI tool giving you a confident but wrong answer, and you can explain how you noticed.
• You can explain every line of your own projects, including the parts AI helped write.
• You read error messages and documentation before asking for help, and when you do ask, your questions are specific.
• You'd rather understand a problem properly than copy a fix that happens to work.

You're probably not a fit if

• Your usual process is to paste the problem into AI, then paste the answer into your code.
• You can't walk through how your project works without looking at it.
• You prefer tasks that are fully spelled out with no ambiguity.

Job Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent, OR bootcamp / self-taught experience backed by real projects. Fresh graduates are welcome. We care about how you think, not years of experience.
• Solid skills in at least one frontend and one backend technology from our stack, and willingness to learn the rest. We don't expect you to know all of them.
• Strong fundamentals: 
• how HTTP and REST APIs work
• SQL (joins, indexes, basic query performance)
• Git
• core data structures
• systematic debugging
• At least one project you built yourself and can discuss in depth.
