Job Description

We are seeking a skilled PHP Developer to join our team and contribute to the ongoing development of a disruptive financial tracking Software as a Service (SaaS) platform. In this role, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and enhancing the backend components of a SaaS-based financial tracking system.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Head of Technology on knowledge handover for the Tracker Project, ensuring full understanding of front-end, backend, third-party integrations, and deployment processes.
• Develop and maintain both front-end (UI/UX) and backend (server, APIs, databases) components of the SaaS platform.
• Design and implement responsive, user-friendly interfaces using modern front-end frameworks.
• Utilize PHP and Laravel to build scalable and secure backend services.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
• Work with SQL/NoSQL databases to ensure data integrity, security, and performance.
• Deploy, monitor, and optimize applications in production (experience with AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or similar DevOps tools is required).
• Integrate third-party APIs (e.g., financial data providers, authentication services) to enhance platform functionality.
• Conduct testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end) to ensure software reliability.
• Identify and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and system inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with product managers to define software requirements and user stories.
• Stay updated with industry standards, compliance regulations, and emerging technologies.
• Continuously optimize and improve the platform to align with evolving business needs.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). If you don’t meet this, prove your expertise through a strong portfolio and demonstrable projects.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience as a PHP developer, with a track record of building, scaling, and maintaining production-grade web applications.
• Deep expertise in PHP frameworks (Laravel) and modern backend development practices.
• Proficient in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and experience with modern JavaScript frameworks is a strong plus.
• Experienced with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies—able to adapt processes for efficiency.
• A self-starter who anticipates challenges: You don’t just follow instructions—you analyze requirements, foresee risks, and proactively devise solutions before issues arise.
• Strong problem-solving mindset: You diagnose bottlenecks, debug efficiently, and implement robust fixes—not just quick patches.

• Strategic ownership: You understand business objectives and ensure development aligns with long-term goals, not just immediate tasks.
