Job Description

An In-House Sound Engineer manages the technical side of music recording, mixing, and sometimes mastering within the label’s studio. You ensure high-quality audio production while supporting artists, producers, and A&R teams throughout the recording process.


Job Requirements

🎙️ Recording Sessions

  • • Set up microphones, preamps, audio interfaces, and signal chains
  • • Run recording sessions for vocals, instruments, and voiceovers
  • • Ensure proper gain staging and clean sound capture
  • • Troubleshoot technical issues during sessions

🎚️ Mixing

  • • Edit vocal takes (comping, tuning, timing correction)
  • • Balance levels, EQ, compression, reverb, delay
  • • Create radio-ready mixes according to genre
  • • Deliver alternate mixes (clean, instrumental, acapella)

- prefer to have knowledge and skill transforming stereo or multi-track recordings into immersive, three-dimensional audio experiences(Dolby Atmos Music/7.1.4 surround sound).

🎛️ Basic Mastering (if required)

  • • Apply final EQ, limiting, loudness optimization
  • • Ensure tracks meet streaming platform standards

🗂️ Studio Management

  • • Maintain studio equipment and software updates
  • • Organize session files & backups
  • • Manage studio booking schedule
  • • Ensure acoustics and monitoring systems are calibrated

🤝 Artist & Producer Collaboration

  • • Understand artist’s sound direction
  • • Provide creative input on arrangement or vocal performance
  • • Work closely with producers and A&R teams

🛠️ Technical Skills Required

  • • Proficiency in:
  • • Pro Tools
  • • Logic Pro
  • • Ableton Live
  • • Knowledge of microphones (Neumann, Shure, AKG etc.)
  • • Understanding of acoustics & signal flow
  • • Experience with analog gear & digital plugins
  • • Familiar with autotune (Auto-Tune, Melodyne)
