A Video Editor for music video shoots takes raw footage from music video productions and transforms it into compelling, polished final videos that match the artist’s vision and brand. This role focuses on editing creative visuals with musical timing, style, and emotion.

Job Requirements

• Post-Production Editing
  • Edit music video footage into final deliverables
  • Cut scenes to match beat timing and musical cues
  • Apply smooth transitions, pacing, and storytelling techniques
  • Perform color grading to enhance aesthetics
  • Sync audio with visuals accurately
  
• Creative Storytelling
  • Collaborate with the director and artist to bring creative concepts to life
  • Implement visual effects that fit the music style (e.g., slow-motion, glitch, stylized cuts)
  • Build narrative arcs within the video
  
• Technical Workflow
  • Organize and manage project files (footage, audio, graphics)
  • Maintain version control and backups
  • Compress/export deliverables in required formats (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, broadcast)
  
• Collaboration
  • Work with videographers, directors, creative producers
  • Receive feedback and revise edits according to creative notes
  • Support team during reshoots or pickups if needed

• Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of pacing and rhythm
  • Excellent sense of music timing and emotion

  • Storytelling instincts

• Education / Experience
  • Diploma / Degree in Film, Multimedia, Digital Media, or related field
  • Proven portfolio of music video edits
  • Experience with genre-specific aesthetics (pop, hip-hop, indie, rock, etc.)
