Job Description

Role Overview

The Product Application Engineer (PAE) provides expert pre-sales and technical support to the sales team and customers, on automation architectures and the Schneider Electric system platform. This role bridges technical expertise with commercial acumen to deliver value-driven solutions for industrial automation projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise on automation architectures and Schneider Electric’s system platform.
  • Assist customers in defining the best implementation considering requirements and constraints.
  • Explain technical advantages of proposed architectures during project discussions.
  • Create value and differentiation by providing system & architecture pre-sales expertise to both end users and integration partners, where relevant (pre-project consultation, feasibility study, audit, etc) in a “for-a-fee” mode
  • Collaborate with sales teams across Schneider Electric business units to identify and build opportunities.
  • Drive pre-sales and specification activities for Digital Plant and EcoStruxure Plant solutions, with and without AVEVA integration.
  • Actively lead and support marketing activity of SE’s system platform in webinars, events, training, tradeshows.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (LoB, sales, marketing) to share updates and key developments.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Automation.
  • Strong background in Industrial Automation and Process Control systems with ability to design optimized architectures.
  • Understanding of automation technologies (standards, integration challenges, competitor offerings).
  • Excellent communication with a commercial mindset to articulate differentiating elements clearly.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, self-starter, and results-driven.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in English.
