Job Description:
Accountable for the clinical teaching and supervision of nursing students in clinical settings.
Liaise with Nursing Lecturers and Unit Managers on matters related to student performance.
Conduct clinical evaluations of students' nursing skills.
Maintain records of students' clinical performance.
Main Duties:
To conduct orientation for all new students in the clinical setting.
Conduct clinical teaching through bedside instruction and nursing rounds, and at the same time, create a conducive learning environment in the clinical area to maximise student benefits from clinical postings.
Demonstrate clinical and communication skills for students to emulate while upholding professionalism by ensuring ethical practice.
Supervise the students' clinical performance and provide feedback.
Assessing the students' clinical performance serves as the practical examiner.
Plan the students' weekly duty and rotate postings to various clinics for the students' exposure.
Give counselling and motivate the students in order to improve their academic knowledge, clinical performance and professional conduct.
Stay abreast with the current trends in healthcare through continuous professional development.
