Job Description

  • Ensure the worksite and all activities comply with all statutory requirements under the OSHA 1994 and other relevant legislation (e.g., Factories and Machinery Act, Environmental Quality Act).
  • Conduct regular, thorough site inspections and safety audits to identify and rectify potential hazards, unsafe conditions and unsafe work practices.
  • Lead and coordinate the process of Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) for all site activities and ensure effective control measures are implemented and maintained.
  • Plan, organize and conduct safety training, orientations, and toolbox meetings for all employees, sub-contractors and visitors to promote a high level of safety awareness and competency.
  • Investigate all accidents, near-misses, dangerous occurrences and occupational diseases. - - Prepare detailed investigation reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence.
  • Prepare, compile and maintain all necessary safety and health documentation, including inspection reports, training records, statistics and all required statutory submissions to DOSH.
  • Develop, implement and test emergency response plans (e.g., fire drills, medical emergencies) and ensure the readiness of emergency equipment and personnel.
  • Monitor the safe use, inspection and certification of all machinery, equipment, tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environment Health & Safety or any related field.
  • Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with Green Book certification (DOSH/JKKP registered) is compulsory.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA 1994, FMA Act and DOSH guidelines.
  • Good leadership, communication and report writing skills.
  • Able to work independently and handle multiple site safety matters.
