Job Description


Deliver accurate and timely tax accounting, reporting and compliance activities for Malaysia including:
  • Quarterly calculation, recording and reporting of tax provisions, commentaries and effective tax rate reconciliation
  • Annual preparation of draft returns and calculation of liabilities
  • Payment estimate calculations and processing tax payments

Accountabilities doesn't limit to:
  • Operate Direct Tax process controls and report all control incidences 
  • Update process documents such as key assumption schedule, permanent file, annual file, work instructions, etc.  as guided by Head of Filing and Reporting
  • Conduct variance analysis, reasonableness checks and reconciliations for standalone entities
  • Configure Tax Data Request Template/Tax packs or Global Provisioning Tools and tax return tools
  • Update local GAAP template, Tax Provisioning Tool master data or local tax calculation tool
  • Comply to Shell Group records management & Information risk management procedures and manage the working papers and supporting documentation related to the tax returns
  • Perform SOAR analysis of tax accounts balances and clean up all tax accounts on regular frequency

Job Requirements

  • Recognized professional qualification with at least 1 year relevant experience in Malaysia corporate tax compliance and reporting
  • Bachelors / Masters in Finance degree with at least more than 1 years of relevant experience in Malaysia corporate tax compliance and reporting. Experience in petroleum tax is preferred.
  • Working Knowledge of SAP and MS Office
  • Good communication, Stakeholder engagement & Analytical skills
