Job Description

Role Overview

The Manager, Testing & Commissioning (T&C), is responsible for leading, planning, and coordinating all testing and commissioning activities for water and wastewater treatment projects. This role ensures that systems are tested, verified, and commissioned in accordance with design specifications, contractual requirements, and safety standards. The Manager will work closely with project, engineering, and operations teams to deliver high-quality outcomes and seamless project handovers to clients. 

Role responsibilities

  • Identifying, recording and clearing installation deficiencies, setting and maintaining satisfactory condition prior to the testing & commissioning. 
  • Coordinate with in house project & design team, clients & their consultants during testing & commissioning and defects liability period. 
  • Resolve the project defects and major rectification during the defects liability period. 
  • Develop, establish and standardize a testing & commissioning protocol for water treatment and wastewater treatment system. 
  • Responsible for successful project commissioning to design guidelines, operations and maintenance manuals, trouble shooting and on site operator training. 
  • Organizing including document keeping all T&C records, lab analysis, T&C report as necessary.


Job Requirements

Role requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in Testing & Commissioning within the water and wastewater industry or a related engineering field.
  • In-depth understanding of process systems, instrumentation, and control systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards and documentation procedures. 
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and P&IDs.
  • Experience working with government agencies (DOE, JKR, SPAN) and familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements.   
  • Strong leadership and project management abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality compliance.
