Job Description

The Technician is responsible for the daily monitoring, operation, and maintenance of Water and Wastewater Treatment Systems. The role ensures smooth plant performance, compliance with standard

operating procedures, and adherence to safety and environmental regulations. This position is essential in maintaining plant reliability and supporting continuous operation through accurate monitoring,

documentation, and preventive maintenance.

Specific Duties/Responsibilities

1) Monitoring, operation & maintenance of Water and Wastewater Treatment Systems.

2) Preparing operator log sheet, including chemical consumption, parameter analysis, service report, whichever necessary to maintain the performance of the Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant.

3) Responsible to operate the plant following Standard Operating Procedure (S.O.P) and the performance at optimum level.

4) Follow strictly to all safety aspect as stated in client’s Health & Safety Procedures.

5) To carry out any other task as instructed by Superior

Qualification, Skills & Experience

  •  Minimum Secondary School Certificate (SPM), Certificate, or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, or Chemical) or a related technical field.
  •  Basic understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes.
  •  Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P.) and safety practices

in industrial environments.

  •  Possession of a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel is an advantage.

Skills

  •  Ability to operate and maintain water/wastewater treatment equipment and systems.
  •  Strong observation and analytical skills for process monitoring and

troubleshooting.

  •  Competent in preparing and maintaining log sheets, service reports, and chemical consumption records.
  •  Good communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
  •  Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
  •  Self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision.

Experience

  •  Minimum 1–3 years of experience in plant operation, maintenance, or

water/wastewater treatment systems preferred.

  •  Fresh graduates or entry-level candidates with technical aptitude are encouraged to apply.
  •  Experience in industrial plant environments or utility systems will be an added advantage.
