1. Effective implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement aligned with the Sime Darby Group Sustainability Blueprint

Key Responsibilities & Activities

·       Coordinate the planning, implementation, and monitoring of ESG, industrial hygiene, and environmental programs across Sime Industrial operations.

·       Translate Sime Darby Group Sustainability Blueprint priorities into practical, site‑level ESH and ESG initiatives and action plans.

·       Track program progress, identify gaps, and support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen ESG and ESH outcomes.

·       Support operational teams in embedding ESG and environmental considerations into day‑to‑day business activities.

·       Prepare progress updates and performance summaries for management review and governance forums.

2. Reduce regulatory, operational, and reputational risks

Key Responsibilities & Activities

·       Monitor and interpret applicable industrial hygiene and environmental legislation, regulations, permits, and standards relevant to Sime Industrial operations.

·       Coordinate statutory environmental and industrial hygiene monitoring, assessments, and reporting activities.

·       Ensure timely submission of regulatory reports and accurate maintenance of compliance records and evidence.

·       Support site teams during regulatory inspections, audits, and engagement with authorities.

·       Escalate emerging compliance risks and support corrective actions to address identified gaps.

3. Identify, assess, and control workplace health hazards

Key Responsibilities & Activities

·       Provide technical support for identification and assessment of occupational health and industrial hygiene risks (e.g. chemical, physical, ergonomic, and biological hazards).

·       Coordinate industrial hygiene surveys, exposure monitoring, and health risk assessments in line with HSSE governance requirements.

·       Support development and implementation of appropriate control measures following the hierarchy of controls.

·       Review industrial hygiene data, identify trends, and recommend improvements to reduce health risk exposure.

·       Contribute to occupational health programs, including health surveillance and wellbeing initiatives, where applicable.

4. Ensure accurate, complete, and timely ESG and environmental reporting

Key Responsibilities & Activities

·       Coordinate collection, validation, and submission of environmental and ESG performance data from sites and business units.

·       Support reporting for Group requirements, including emissions, environmental performance, and sustainability disclosures.

·       Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and traceability in line with Group ESG and emissions reporting procedures.

·       Maintain documentation and evidence to support internal assurance, audits, and external verification processes.

·       Support management reviews by preparing dashboards, summaries, and analysis of ESG and environmental performance.

5. Strengthen consistency, accountability, and performance

Key Responsibilities & Activities

·       Support implementation and maintenance of ESG and HSSE governance frameworks, standards, and procedures within Sime Industrial.

·       Assist in internal audits, self‑assessments, and assurance activities related to ESG, industrial hygiene, and environmental management.

·       Monitor conformance to Group policies, procedures, and minimum requirements.

·       Support corrective action tracking and follow‑up to ensure effective closure of identified gaps.

·       Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at strengthening governance maturity and operational resilience.

6. Drive capability building, awareness, and sustainable business growth

Key Responsibilities & Activities

·       Work closely with operations, site leadership, and functional teams to integrate ESG, industrial hygiene, and environmental requirements into business processes.

·       Support awareness, training, and capability‑building initiatives related to ESG, occupational health, and environmental management.

·       Act as a liaison between Sime Industrial and Group Sustainability, HSSE, and reporting teams.

·       Provide subject matter input into management discussions, risk reviews, and sustainability planning activities.

·       Promote a proactive ESG and ESH culture that supports safe, resilient, and sustainable operations.

Job Requirements

• Tertiary qualification (preferably a Master’s degree) in Safety & Environmental Science or a related Engineering/Science discipline.

• Experience in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health Risk Assessment, and ESG & Sustainability Reporting.

• At least 2 years of working experience in the related field; fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and proven leadership abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-oriented environment.

• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
