Job Description

Environmental, Health & Safety Operations

• Implement and maintain Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and best practices for Data Centre operations. 
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian regulatory requirements including DOSH, DOE, CIDB, and other applicable legislation. 
• Conduct routine site inspections, Daily Site Walks, workplace audits, and GACE assessments to identify hazards and improve workplace safety. 
• Perform safety inspections and recommend corrective and preventive actions. 

Incident Management & Compliance

• Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. 
• Prepare incident reports, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and regulatory documentation within required service level agreements. 
• Escalate unsafe acts or unsafe conditions promptly according to established response timelines. 
• Maintain accurate EHS records, inspection reports, audit findings, and compliance documentation. 

Training & Safety Culture

• Deliver EHS induction programs, toolbox talks, safety awareness sessions, and emergency response training. 
• Promote the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe work practices. 
• Foster a proactive safety culture through continuous communication, engagement, and employee awareness initiatives. 

Environmental & Sustainability

• Monitor environmental performance including: 
• Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) 
• Noise levels 
• Energy efficiency 
• Water usage 
• Waste management 
• Recommend initiatives to improve environmental sustainability and operational performance. 

Emergency Response & Risk Management

• Support emergency preparedness planning, evacuation drills, and emergency response procedures. 
• Coordinate safety responses during incidents and high-priority events. 
• Ensure timely communication with internal stakeholders and emergency response teams. 

Stakeholder Coordination

• Collaborate with facility managers, engineering teams, contractors, clients, and government authorities on EHS matters. 
• Support audits conducted by customers, regulatory bodies, and external consultants. 
• Provide recommendations to continuously improve workplace safety and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or a related discipline. 
• Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH is mandatory. 

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Environmental, Health & Safety management. 
• Prior experience supporting Data Centre, mission-critical facilities, or industrial operations is required. 
• Experience conducting workplace inspections, audits, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance activities. 

Technical Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of Malaysian EHS legislation and regulatory requirements (DOSH, DOE, CIDB). 
• Familiarity with: 
• Risk Assessment 
• GACE Assessment 
• Safety Audits 
• Incident Investigation 
• Emergency Response Planning 
• Environmental Monitoring 
• Understanding of Data Centre operations and critical infrastructure is an added advantage. 

Skills & Competencies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Excellent report writing and documentation skills. 
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. 
• Able to influence and promote a positive safety culture. 
• Good presentation and training facilitation skills. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. 
• Experience using EHS management systems or reporting software is an advantage. 
• Able to work independently while managing multiple priorities. 

Service Level Expectations

The successful candidate will be expected to meet operational service standards including:

• Conduct daily Data Centre site inspections according to schedule. 
• Complete daily inspection reports before the end of each shift. 
• Escalate safety hazards within 20 minutes of identification. 
• Respond to Priority 0 & Priority 1 incidents immediately or within 20 minutes. 
• Respond to Priority 2 & Priority 3 incidents within 1 hour. 
• Submit incident reports and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) within required timelines.
