Job Description

As an Agronomist, you will play a pivotal role in leading our agronomy initiatives, fostering innovation, and ensuring the successful execution of strategic agricultural practices. Your expertise will contribute significantly to enhancing crop management, implementing sustainable farming methods, and driving optimal crop yield.

• Provide strategic leadership in agronomy, guiding the development and implementation of advanced planting, cultivation, and harvesting techniques.
• Lead and mentor a team of agronomists, providing guidance and support in achieving departmental objectives.
• Conduct advanced research to counter the effects of changes in soil, climate, weather, and pest damage.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, technology, and developments, applying innovative solutions to improve agricultural practices.
• Oversee the collection of seed, plant, and soil samples, ensuring accurate testing for nutritional deficiencies, diseases, or other changes.
• Play a key role in sourcing, testing, and selecting plants, ensuring the highest standards of quality and suitability for cultivation.
• Generate comprehensive reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.
• Conduct training sessions on advanced agronomic products and techniques through educational presentations.
• Develop and implement planting and irrigation schedules, budgets, and timelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination of agronomic activities.
• Assist in any other special/ ad-hoc assignments assigned by superior from time to time.

Job Requirements

• Have at least a bachelor's degree in the related field; or 
• Minimum 1 - 3 years of work experience in plantation/agriculture sector, which is deemed as adequate by the management / senior officials.
• Strong research, decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• In-depth awareness of industry trends, technology, and developments.
• Must possess a valid D driving license. Possession of a B2 driving license is an added advantage.
• Ability to live and work in a remote environment and effectively lead a team.
