Job Description

Reporting to Vice President Fleet Operations, SIA Engineering Division based in Singapore, the Maintenance Controller is primarily responsible for driving timely completion of maintenance checks and rectifications in a base maintenance hangar environment for SIA and SIA subsidiary airline’s aircraft. This will be inclusive of both maintenance checks that takes place in Subang Airport, Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities

1) Work with all MROs in managing the preparations, progress of maintenance checks

2) Attend the daily engineering operations meeting to report on the progress of each aircraft undergoing maintenance by monitoring check milestones, identify delays, and implement recovery plans.

3) Work with MRO and Costing section to determine reasonable charging of work done progressively through the course of a hangar check

4) Work on continual improvement projects to bring about maintenance cost-savings and efficiency gain in workflow for hangar checks

5) Conduct periodic audits of the MRO to ensure proper completion of maintenance works and accuracy of documentation.

6) Compile and disseminate daily reports on progress of maintenance checks in base maintenance hangars

7) Manage logistics and material request for urgent AOG (Aircraft On Ground) support during overseas checks  

8) To ensure the safe, efficient, and smooth execution of aircraft maintenance checks within the main base hangar, while providing on-site oversight and coordination for overseas maintenance events


Job Requirements

Qualifications

The candidate should have:

1a) An aircraft maintenance license with experience in base maintenance work, preferably 10 yrs experience with type ratings on wide body aircraft (e.g A350, B777, B787) OR

1b) A degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical & Electronics Engineering) with experience in base maintenance work

2) Excellent interpersonal skills as the job requires interaction various user departments

3) Excellent planning and project management skills and be able to work independently

4) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

5) Good IT skills and maintenance tracking system, airplane portals (e.g. Airman, MyBoeingFleet)

6) You will be based in in a base maintenance hangar environment at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (Subang Airport) in Selangor, Malaysia. 

7) You may also have the opportunity to attend functional training or attach to Engineering Office in Head Office, Singapore.
