As a Retail Shop Assistant you'll help build a welcoming in-store experience and grow sales through confident product advice and smooth service. This role is hands-on and teaches retail fundamentals while giving you real customer-facing responsibility.

Responsibilities

Customer Experience

• Greet and assist customers with a warm, knowledgeable approach to jewellery selection.
• Explain product features, materials, and care instructions to help customers decide.
• Handle customer enquiries, returns, and simple after-sales follow-up with care.

Store Operations

• Operate the POS system, process cash and card payments accurately, and issue receipts.
• Receive deliveries, check stock against invoices, and update inventory records.
• Maintain store presentation including polishing displays and arranging merchandise.

Sales & Merchandising

• Actively support sales targets by suggesting complementary items and upselling tastefully.
• Set up visual displays and assist with seasonal merchandising to highlight key pieces.
• Record customer preferences and sales trends to help the team plan promotions.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Fresh graduates and entry-level candidates are welcome.
• Minimum secondary education such as SPM or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
• Availability to work retail shifts including weekends and public holidays as scheduled.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

• Basic familiarity with jewellery terms, metals, and gemstone names, or a strong willingness to learn.
• Comfortable using POS systems, handling cash, and completing simple stock checks.
• Product knowledge in jewellery design and care, supported by on-the-job training.

Soft Skills & Qualities

• Clear communication and friendly service mindset that makes customers feel welcome.
• Attention to detail when handling valuable items and completing sales paperwork.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a small retail team.
