Job Description

  1.  Conduct regular field visits to provide support and execute the project at field and manage day-to-day operations in coordination with stakeholders/partners and ensure timely implementation of project plans;
  2. Organize trainings, workshops, exposure and capacity building programmes for other field functionaries and targeted farmers;
  3. Review and analyze collected data and prepare draft compiled reports, process documentation/reporting;
  4. Coordinate regularly with all the relevant industry stakeholders/government departments and technical institutes;
  5. Coordination and regular communication with experts, consultants, and project partners/stakeholders;
  6. Actively participate in programme management team meetings;
  7. Support supervisor in identifying potential donors among international, national and institutional funders and assist in submitting briefs/proposals;
  8. Develop and maintain relationship with national and provincial governments and other stakeholders;
  9. Ensuring project expense reporting compliance with Solidaridad finance and administration reporting standard;

  11. Promote new technology adoption for extension support at field level;

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Rural Development, Sustainability, Project Management, or related field. A Master's degree would be an advantage. 
  2. Approximately 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in agriculture, sustainability, international development, NGO programmes, or rural development, with several years in a leadership role.
  3. Strong understanding of Malaysia's palm oil sector, MSPO certification, sustainability standards, climate-smart agriculture, smallholder development, ESG, and preferably EUDR and deforestation-related initiatives.
  4. Experience managing field teams, supervising programme staff, coaching employees, and managing regional operations.
  5. Proven ability to plan, implement, monitor, evaluate, and report on donor-funded or development projects. Experience managing project budgets would be valuable. 
  6.  Excellent English and Bahasa Malaysia (spoken and written). Ability to facilitate workshops, conduct presentations, and prepare donor-quality reports 
  7.  Willingness to travel extensively across Sarawak, including remote rural areas, and possess a valid driving licence.
