 Information Technology Management

• Manage and maintain the organisation’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems. 
• Provide technical support to staff on IT systems, software, and digital platforms. 
• Ensure proper system access controls and user account management. 
• Maintain system security measures such as antivirus protection, firewalls, and backups. 
• Monitor and maintain digital platforms used by the organisation. 
• Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of IT systems.

Data Processing & Management

• Oversee the collection, processing, storage, and retrieval of organisational and personal data. 
• Ensure data is processed accurately, consistently, and in compliance with internal policies. 
• Maintain databases and digital platforms, including input, updates, and validation of data. 
• Coordinate with programme teams or departments to ensure proper handling and usage of data. 
• Support reporting and analysis by providing processed data in a timely and structured manner.

Data Security & System Management

• Implement and maintain data security measures to protect organisational and personal data. 
• Manage system backups, data recovery processes, and secure storage of digital records. 
• Monitor system access to prevent unauthorized use of organisational data. 
• Support secure integration of digital tools and platforms used by the organisation. 

Data Protection Officer Responsibilities

• Ensure organisational compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010. 
• Develop and implement data protection policies, procedures, and guidelines. 
• Monitor how personal data is collected, processed, stored, and shared within the organisation.
• Act as the main contact point for data subjects and the Personal Data Protection Commissioner.
• Advise management on data protection impact assessments (DPIA).
• Oversee data breach response and notification procedures.
• Conduct or coordinate regular data protection audits and risk assessments.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or IT infrastructure management. 
• Basic knowledge of data protection and privacy requirements under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010. 
• Experience managing IT systems, networks, databases, or digital platforms. 
• Familiarity with data security practices, including system access control, backups, and data protection measures. 
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive organisational data responsibly. 
• Good problem-solving, analytical, and organisational skills. 
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical staff. 
• Experience developing or implementing IT policies, procedures, or data protection guidelines is an advantage
