Job Description

The Event Designer Intern will assist the event design team in the conceptualization, creation, and execution of events. This role is ideal for a creative individual who has a passion for event planning, design, and decoration. The intern will gain hands-on experience and exposure to various aspects of event design, including venue layout, décor, theme development, and client coordination.

Job Requirements

Educational Requirements:

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Event Management, Interior Design, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.

Technical Skills:

• Basic proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other design tools is a plus.
  Ability to create digital design mockups and conceptual designs.
• Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for administrative tasks.

Creative Skills:

• A strong eye for aesthetics, including color theory, layout design, and an understanding of visual composition.
• Ability to generate fresh, innovative ideas for event décor, themes, and layouts.

Communication Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to present design concepts clearly and collaborate with clients and the internal team.
• Comfort with client interaction to understand design preferences and provide updates.

Organizational Skills:

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail in event design and implementation.
• Capable of managing deadlines and adjusting priorities as needed.

Problem-Solving Ability:

• Ability to troubleshoot and make design-related decisions during event planning or setup.
• Flexible in responding to last-minute changes or challenges that may arise before or during an event.
  

Teamwork and Collaboration:

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude towards working with diverse teams and external vendors.

Event Experience:

• Prior exposure to event planning or design is a plus, though not required.
• A genuine interest in learning the intricacies of event design and the event planning process.
   

Time Management and Flexibility:

• Strong time-management skills to meet deadlines and handle various tasks simultaneously.
• Willingness to work during non-standard hours, including weekends or evenings, especially during event setups or events themselves.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to assist with physical tasks such as event setup and teardown, moving materials or décor, and ensuring all design elements are executed properly at events.
