Senior Social Media Manager

Job Summary

Lead social media strategy, creative ideation, and paid ads performance for brands, with clear ownership of results and client communication.

Role Overview

We are hiring a Senior Social Media Manager to take full ownership of organic social media strategy, paid social advertising, and client-facing execution.

This role is not operational-only. You are expected to think strategically, lead ideation, manage performance, and confidently present insights to clients. You should be equally comfortable discussing creative direction and ad performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

1. Social Media Strategy & Management

  • Develop and execute end-to-end social media strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Oversee content calendars, publishing schedules, and platform optimization
  • Ensure brand consistency in tone, messaging, and visual direction
  • Guide junior team members or creators when required
  • Continuously refine strategies based on platform performance and trends

Performance indicators (Organic):

  • Consistent engagement rate growth (industry-benchmarked)
  • Follower growth driven by content strategy (not giveaways only)
  • Content performance analysis using reach, saves, shares, and retention
  • Ability to justify content decisions using data, not opinion

2. Creative Ideation & Campaign Development

  • Lead ideation for monthly content, launches, and campaign concepts
  • Translate brand positioning into compelling social-first ideas
  • Collaborate with designers, videographers, and copywriters
  • Identify trends early and adapt them meaningfully to brand context

Expected capability:

  • Can explain why a content angle works, not just what looks good
  • Able to balance creativity with platform algorithms and performance

3. Paid Social Media Advertising (Meta Focus)

  • Plan, launch, manage, and optimize paid social media campaigns
  • Act as Meta Ads specialist, responsible for performance outcomes
  • Structure campaigns using proper funnel logic (TOF / MOF / BOF)
  • Continuously test creatives, audiences, and messaging angles
  • Scale winning campaigns while maintaining efficiency

Meta Ads expertise indicators:

  • Strong understanding of:
    • Campaign objectives & learning phase
    • Audience structures (broad, interest, custom, lookalike)
    • Creative fatigue and testing frameworks
  • Comfortable discussing metrics such as:
    • CPA, ROAS, CTR, CPC, CPM
    • Conversion rate and attribution limitations
  • Ability to diagnose performance issues and propose clear actions

4. Client Servicing & Presentation

  • Act as the main social media point-of-contact for assigned clients
  • Present strategies, campaign ideas, and performance reports confidently
  • Translate performance data into clear insights and recommendations
  • Handle client feedback professionally and strategically
  • Build trust through clarity, ownership, and results

Expected senior behaviour:

  • Comfortable pushing back with rationale when needed
  • Can explain complex performance issues in simple terms
  • Maintains composure and clarity in client discussions

Job Requirements

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in social media management
  • Proven experience managing both organic social media and paid ads
  • Prior client-facing or account servicing experience is mandatory
  • Strong communication skills with an extroverted, confident personality
  • Able to manage multiple brands and priorities independently

Required Tools & Software Experience

Candidates must be experienced with:

  • Meta Business Manager & Ads Manager
  • Instagram, Facebook, TikTok platform tools, XHS (Bonus)
  • Content scheduling tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Sprout, Meta Scheduler, or equivalent)
  • Analytics & reporting tools (Meta Insights, platform analytics, spreadsheets)
  • Presentation tools (Google Slides / PowerPoint)

Bonus (not mandatory):

  • TikTok Ads Manager
  • Basic understanding of GA4 or website conversion tracking
