About the Role
As Configuration Managemer, you will be based in Kuala Lumpur as a member of the IT Asset & Configuration Management team within Technology Platform department.
The requirement for role is to drive the key objectives during the project:
• To work together in designing and implementing CSDM model within our CMDB, and ensure configuration items (CIs) are identified and tracked throughout their lifecycle to support the business services.
• To apply industry standard processes (best practices) in the different environments to provide accurate information.
• To maximize the use of ServiceNow Tool capabilities in Configuration Management to automate the standard processes and minimize manual intervention.
• Continue day-to-day operations by achieving goals such as single source of truth, accurate; and consistent and compliance.
• Be responsible for overall execution of the configuration management process on a day-to-day basis across SWIFT globally.
• Manage, maintain and improve the configuration management (CM) environment for hardware, servers, and software product builds.

- Administer the CMDB by working closely with other process leads and ensure that asset specific information are accurate and consistently following the processes
- Maintain/Develop CMDB standards, CMDB plans and procedures
- Implement the CMDB policy and standards and to provide guidance to all team members on how to perform CMDB processes
- Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of all Configuration Management Database (CMDB) processes and activities
- Execute activities to identify new CI's and new CI relationships using automated tools or well-defined processes, as well as stale CI's and relationships
- Performs reconciliation of CMDB data, ensuring exceptions are noted between CMDB, discovery information, and other authoritative sources
- Lead activities to correct any gaps or inefficiencies in CMDB data, including Configuration Items and their respective attributes
- Establish audit practices and to conduct audits to ensure data integrity and confirm accountable parties comply with processes
- Support design, development, and implementation of automated processes for gathering, populating, and maintaining CMDB data
- Assist with the design of the CMDB data models including classes, naming conventions, relationships etc.
- Work closely with service owners to ensure the CI mappings are accurate and up to date
- Work directly with the IT Asset and Configuration Manager to develop strategy and roadmap for CMDB implementation and upkeep
- Work closely with IT Security and Tooling Tribe especially ServiceNow Squad to work through any discovery blockers
- Identify and maintain all assets and features associated with the Configuration Items (CIs)
- Proactively identify and suggest improvement opportunities to the Discovery and Configuration Management functions
- Create technical documentation related to CMDB discovery and service mapping processes
- Assist with developing user training documentation and end user / quick reference guides
- Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on CI data accuracy including stale, orphan, and duplicate Cis
- Create and update knowledge base articles to improve support team effectiveness
What will make you successful?
Education, qualification and training:
- University degree – (preferably in IT)
- ITIL v3/v4 Foundation certified and preferably knowledge/experience in Agile methodology will have added advantage
- System Administrator certification in ServiceNow or similar ITSM tool is a plus
- Demonstrated experience in tool based Discovery / Event Management Fundamentals
Experience and Professional Knowledge:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Configuration Management in banking & financial services industry
- Extensive knowledge of the ServiceNow platform
- Experienced in design, implementation and documentation of the CMDB
- Extensive experience in the design, implementation and documentation of Workflows
- Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, tools and CMDB
