Finance Operations (Analyst/Associate/Asst Manager) 

About the Role:

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance & Accounting Specialist to join our growing team. This role is perfect for someone who is curious about how finance and accounting data flows within systems and passionate about leveraging automation to streamline processes and accelerate financial analysis.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency while contributing to the development of scalable processes in a fast-paced startup environment.

In this role, you'll:

  • Take ownership and lead the reconciliation effort of the daily cash movement
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of each customer's virtual account balance
  • Manage customer invoicing and collection
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements and financial reporting standards as well as developing, reviewing, and implementing standard operating policies and procedures
  • Maintain and issue weekly/monthly Cash and Balance Sheet forecasts
  • Perform and verify monthly bank reconciliation to ensure the accuracy of bank transactions and balances
  • Handle indirect tax and related corporate tax matters
  • Ensure timely submission of accurate financial reports, analysis, forecasts, and financial statements
  • Be the contact point for auditors, tax consultants, local banks, and other external parties


Job Requirements

What you'll bring to the team:

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business and/or a certified public accountant — Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree or a Professional Qualification (ACCA/CPA/ICAEW/MICPA)
  • 3–5 years of work experience in financial reporting and accounting
  • Experience in controllership or auditing
  • Experience implementing cloud-based accounting software e.g., Xero and QuickBooks
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and fluency in English and Malay
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Strong financial and analytical ability. Proficiency in managing business analytics to determine optimum company footprint
  • Curiosity about how finance/accounting and data flows within systems, and a passion for leveraging automation to streamline processes and accelerate financial data analysis (Keen on AI!)
  • A start-up attitude — highly collaborative with an entrepreneurial, roll-up-your-sleeves approach that’s not afraid to be hands-on
  • Tech startup experience is a plus!
