Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching & Learning

  • Undertake teaching and teaching related duties such as design, preparation and development of teaching materials; conduct classes/lectures, tutorials and practical’s; consultation with students, invigilation, marking and assessment
  • Establish and maintain high standards of teaching and effective learning to meet the University’s teaching and learning expectations

 

Administration and Other Activities

  • Undertake and contribute in administrative responsibilities such as attending departmental meetings, participate in committees and working groups within the Department, School and Faculty

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in Performing Arts or a relevant discipline or 5 years’ experience in the industry (e.g. Theatre, Dance, Music, Performance Studies, Choreography, Acting, Directing, Music Performance, Arts Education, or related fields).
  • Candidates with strong professional industry experience and recognised artistic achievements may be considered, subject to university and MOHE requirements.
  • Experience teaching in a higher education environment or equivalent professional training context.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach both theoretical and practical modules relevant to the Bachelor of Performing Arts programme.
  • Active engagement in the performing arts industry (e.g. performances, productions, choreography, direction, composition, design, or creative research).
  • A strong professional portfolio with evidence of artistic practice, productions, or performances at national and/or international levels is an advantage.
