Job Description

The Senior Director, Quality Assurance & Accreditation is responsible for quality advancement initiatives to support the realization of Taylor’s University and Taylor’s College’s mission and objectives. The Director will lead and manage the Quality Assurance & Accreditation Department to fulfil its stated roles and objectives and is primarily responsible to lead and conduct quality reviews and programme / institutional accreditation. 

 

KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Successfully obtain and maintain self-accreditation status for the university.

•    Provide advice and guidance regarding quality assurance policies and procedures to individuals and groups across the institution and to external bodies.

•    Review programmes curricula to meet MQA, professional body, MoHE requirements and regulations for self-accreditation & traditional accreditation.

•    Responsible to manage Programme Accreditation Committee to ensure the programme accreditation is conducted professionally and efficiently. This includes creating a pool of  Assessors, providing professional development or alignment and monitoring their performance.

•    Work with Heads of Programme and Department to ensure programmes are in compliance to MOHE and MQA requirements

•    Oversee the internal audit which reviews the implementation and effectiveness of the Quality Management System.

•    Oversee the institutional and academic audit by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency, ISO 9001 QMS certification body and other external bodies, which includes coordinating the preparation of self-review portfolio and following up any necessary corrective, preventive, and improvement actions.

•    Organise and conduct awareness programmes related to quality to enhance the quality culture within the institution.

•    Any other responsibilities that may be assigned to you from time to time.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS

MINIMUM ACADEMIC / PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION 
Possess a Master’s degree or preferably a PhD in Education or relevant field. 

 

RELATED EXPERIENCE
At least 10 years of work experience (including at managerial level), in a higher education institution with a track record in implementing and operating self-accreditation and quality management system

 

KEY COMPETENCIES
•    Possess good leadership (strategic planning, stakeholder engagement etc.) and managerial skills.
•    Possess a good knowledge of the higher education industry including the relevant statutory and regulatory requirements primarily related to a self-accrediting university.
•    Possess a good knowledge of the key academic processes in higher education, including self-accreditation, curriculum design, assessment, programme monitoring and review.
•    Possess knowledge and experience in managing ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
•    Possess experience and skills in benchmarking, development of policy and procedure and internal auditing.
•    Possess good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
