The APEL Support Officer supports day-to-day operations of the APEL Unit, organize and maintain files and records in system and provide wholesome and holistic support to faculties/learners. He/She also ensures all related stakeholders are satisfied with the support provided by APEL.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Handle enquiries from learners pertaining to APEL.
2.Explain on the administrative and application processes to learners.
3.Ensure learners are provided with a copy of Learners’ Guide on APEL.
4.Ensure completeness of relevant forms and documentations submitted by learners.
5.Perform verification of forms and documents submitted by learners.
6.Assist learners with learning resources like text books /materials/etc where need be.
7.Coordinate assessment between learners and Assessor.
8.Key liaison between learners and Assessor.
9.Receive request from learner regarding appeal against the results of the APELassessment.
10.Communicate unofficial results to learners.
11.Ensure completeness of APEL-02 form, thereafter submit to MQA for issuance of APELcertificate to successful applicants.
12.Prepare periodic data/reports/statistics as and when required.
13.Keep abreast and adhere to relevant policy and procedures affecting APEL operations.
14.Familiar with the ‘Guidelines to Good Practices (GGP)’ and all related quality assurancedocuments and policies set by the MQA and other related agencies.
15.Attend continuous training in the areas of APEL to remain relevant.
16.Undertake any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

MINIMUM ACADEMIC / PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
Diploma/Degree in any field
RELATED EXPERIENCE
At least 2 years of working experience, preferably in an educational institution.
