Job Description

We are looking for an Event & Retail Specialist to support Teemi’s growing offline presence.

This is a hybrid, hands-on role combining brand events, customer engagement and retail store operations.

During event-focused periods, you will be involved in roadshows, school activities, collaborations and other brand activations. During peak retail seasons, your focus will shift towards supporting customers and store operations at the Teemi Penang Official Store.

The role is suitable for someone who enjoys meeting people, communicating with parents and children, working in different environments and taking ownership of getting things done.

Key Responsibilities

1. Events & Brand Activation

• Support the planning, preparation and execution of Teemi events, roadshows, school activities, collaborations and brand activations.
• Coordinate event requirements including products, stock, display materials, equipment and other necessary items.
• Fully incharge of event setup, operation and dismantling.
• Engage with parents and children during events and introduce Teemi products confidently.
• Conduct basic product demonstrations and bag fitting when required.
• Coordinate with internal team members, event organisers and external parties to ensure smooth event execution.
• Monitor event inventory, materials and equipment before and after each event.
• Record customer feedback, frequently asked questions and useful observations from events.
• Prepare basic event reports, photos and feedback after completion.
• Be available for selected weekend, public holiday and outstation events when required.

2. Retail & Customer Experience

• Serve customers at the Teemi Penang Official Store and provide a welcoming, professional customer experience.
• Understand customers' needs and recommend suitable products based on the child's height, usage and requirements.
• Learn Teemi's product range thoroughly and provide clear, accurate and confident product recommendations.
• Conduct proper school bag fitting and teach parents and children how to adjust and wear the bag correctly.
• Explain product features, differences and usage in an easy-to-understand manner.
• Handle customer enquiries and provide appropriate after-sales guidance.
• Support cashiering and basic retail transactions when required.
• Maintain a clean, organised and customer-ready retail environment.
• Ensure displays, product samples, promotional materials and fitting areas are properly maintained.

Job Requirements

Seasonal Work Arrangement

The responsibilities of this position will shift according to Teemi's business needs and seasonal activities.

During periods with more events and brand activation activities, greater focus will be placed on event execution and customer engagement.

During peak retail and back-to-school periods, greater focus will be placed on retail store operations, customer service and product fitting.

The employee is expected to be flexible and support both areas as required.

Requirements

• Malaysian citizen, aged 20 or above.
• Diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Experience in retail, customer service, events, roadshows or promotional activities is an advantage.
• Comfortable communicating primarily in Mandarin, with the ability to communicate in English and BM.
• Confident communicating with both parents and children.
• Friendly, responsible and willing to learn.
• Able to work independently after training and take ownership of assigned tasks.
• Comfortable with hands-on work including event setup, product handling and stock arrangement.
• Able to work on weekends and public holidays according to the assigned work schedule.
• Willing to travel or work outstation for selected events when required.
• Basic computer and smartphone skills for reporting, communication and retail operations.
