As the Builder for our front of house, you will help design and scale simple service routines, train teammates, and lift daily standards so customers leave happy and return often. This role suits someone who enjoys hands-on shifts and improving the way a small restaurant runs.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities

Floor Operations

• Run shifts smoothly by greeting guests, managing seating, and coordinating order flow with the kitchen.
• Operate the POS to take orders and process payments while ensuring accurate cash handling.
• Maintain dining cleanliness and quick table turn times during peak periods.
• Monitor stock levels of service items and report shortages for replenishment.

Team Leadership & Training

• Assist in scheduling and assigning tasks so shifts are staffed and roles are clear.
• Train new waitstaff on portion knowledge, menu items, and standard service steps.
• Provide on-shift coaching and clear feedback to improve speed and consistency.
• Step in as acting supervisor when senior staff are absent to keep service steady.

Guest Experience & Sales

• Create positive customer moments by suggesting dishes, handling simple complaints, and following up on satisfaction.
• Encourage add-ons and upsells through friendly recommendations to increase average spend.
• Collect basic guest feedback and share patterns with management to help improve service and menu choices.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years working in restaurant service, including some supervisory or senior waiter experience.
• Basic familiarity with POS systems and handling cash reconciliation at shift end.
• Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required in a food service role.
• Certificate in food handling or basic hygiene is preferred but not mandatory.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

• Competence in table service, order taking, and simple upselling techniques.
• Knowledge of food safety and cleanliness standards used in Malaysian restaurants.
• Ability to perform basic stock checks and report inventory needs accurately.
• Comfort with smartphone messaging apps for shift communication and simple rostering.
