About The Lit Social

The Lit Social is a social media content and production agency operating across Penang and KL. We work with brands in beauty, healthcare, F&B, lifestyle and education, handling content strategy, copywriting, video production, editing and publishing.

Joining our team means working across two sides of the craft. The first is social-first content — the strategy, writing and production behind content built for how people actually watch. The second is AI visual production, where we create campaign visuals and brand imagery entirely with AI.

We’re looking for a Social Media Specialist who understands that great social content is both creative and strategic. You’re passionate about storytelling, obsessed with trends, and know how to translate brand goals into content that connects, converts, and inspires.

Job Description

As a Social Media Specialist at The Lit Social, you’ll take the lead in shaping, creating, and optimising content across platforms — driving engagement and helping brands grow authentically in the digital space.

Responsibilities

• Content Strategy & Creation: Plan, develop, and execute engaging content for Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, ensuring each piece aligns with brand identity and campaign goals.
• Storytelling & Brand Voice: Craft clear, compelling narratives that strengthen brand presence, foster community engagement, and drive real connections.
• Brand Consistency: Maintain a strong and cohesive brand aesthetic across all platforms and content formats.
• Content Planning & Scheduling: Manage social calendars to ensure consistent posting and smooth coordination between creative and strategy teams.
• Client Communication & Feedback: Liaise with clients on a regular basis to gather feedback, relay updates, and ensure content is approved and delivered on time — maintaining clear communication throughout the content cycle.
• Caption & Copy Writing: Write platform-appropriate captions and copy that reflect each client’s brand voice.
• Shoot Coordination: Brief and coordinate with the production team ahead of on-site shoots, ensuring creative direction, shot lists, and logistics are aligned before execution.
• Performance Analysis: Track performance metrics and translate data into actionable insights to refine strategy and improve results.

Job Requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in social media marketing, content creation, or digital strategy.
• Agency experience (preferred).
• Strong copywriting and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt to various brand tones.
• Familiar with content creation across multiple platforms.
• Familiar with using AI tools such as ChatGPT/ Claude. (preferred)
• A keen eye for aesthetics and social media trends.
• Excellent multitasking and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be fluent in English.
• Portfolio of social media work (preferred).
• Own transport (preferred).
