Job Description

We are seeking an Asst Operations Manager to anchor the delivery of mid-size to large Group Leisure and MICE programmes — someone who is comfortable owning files, leading on the ground, and working in close partnership across commercial and operations leadership.

The Role

This is a hands-on execution role with full responsibility for programme delivery, quality control, and operational outcomes.
You will work closely with both our Operations and Commercial leadership to ensure each programme is delivered to standard, on budget, and on time.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing end-to-end operations for mid-size and large Group Leisure and MICE programmes
  • Leading pre-trip preparation, supplier coordination, confirmations, tour gruide briefings, and internal alignment
  • Conducting on-field supervision and guest servicing while groups are on tour
  • Overseeing live operations and resolving issues calmly and decisively during events and group movements
  • Implementing quality control based on The Traveller Malaysia’s SOPs and operational standards
  • Managing invoicing, cost control, and P&L for assigned files
  • Participating in daily leadership stand-ups, aligning execution priorities with commercial and operational teams
  • Guiding and supporting team members involved in programme delivery

This role requires flexibility and field presence. Working beyond regular office hours is expected during peak operational periods.

Job Requirements

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a travel agency Group / MICE division, event management company, or related travel industry role
  • Minimum Diploma in Tourism Management, Hospitality, or related field
  • (Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications)
  • Tour Guides with strong administrative, coordination, and reporting skills seeking an office-based operational role are encouraged to apply
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Canva or basic design tools is an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail, fast learner, and highly organised
  • Comfortable working under pressure, meeting tight deadlines, and adapting to flexible hours
  • A strong team player who works well within a structured, collaborative environment

  • Work location: In-office at PJ8, Petaling Jaya or Mid Valley
  • Schedule: Full-time, with on-call requirements during peak seasons
  • You will work closely with both Operations and Commercial leadership, ensuring seamless alignment from confirmation through execution.
