Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous, motivated, and experienced Account Executive to join our growing team in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring smooth cash flow management.

As a key member of our finance function, you will work closely with the Operations and Sales teams to support our multichannel retail and distribution activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and possesses strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Maintain and manage full sets of accounts (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable) in a timely and accurate manner.
  
• Month-End Closing: Prepare monthly financial reports, bank reconciliations, and cash flow statements for management review.
  
• Transaction Management: Verify, record, and process daily financial transactions, including supplier invoices, customer payments, business expenses, and petty cash.
  
• Tax & Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of local statutory requirements, including SST, corporate tax submissions, EPF, SOCSO, and EIS.
  
• Audit & Inventory Support: Coordinate with internal teams to verify inventory records against financial data, investigate discrepancies, and liaise with external auditors/tax agents when required.
  
• Documentation: Ensure all financial records, invoices, receipts, and vouchers are systematically filed and maintained in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance.
  
• Experience: Minimum 1–3 years of hands-on experience handling full sets of accounts or general corporate accounting.
  
• Industry Background: Experience in retail, e-commerce, or trading/distribution sectors is a significant advantage.
  
• Language Proficiency: Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken). Knowledge of local dialects is a plus.
  
• Attributes: Strong analytical mindset, highly organized, and capable of working independently to meet strict accounting deadlines.
  
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP/CRM systems and Autocount Software is an added advantage.
  
• Experience in handling online platform - Shopee, Lazada, Tik Tok etc
  

Key Skills Needed

• Technical Accounting: Proficiency in managing full sets of accounts, cash flow forecasting, and double-entry bookkeeping.
  
• Accounting Software: Strong working knowledge of accounting software—experience with AutoCount Software, SQL Accounting, or UBS is highly preferred.
  
• Office Tools: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas) and Word.
  
• Regulatory Knowledge: Sound understanding of Malaysian accounting standards (MPERS/MFRS) and local tax regulations (SST).
