Overview

TNS’ Technical Delivery team are a team of highly skilled and committed Network Engineers tasked with delivering the highest quality solutions for our customers across our global network. At TNS, we provide mission critical, managed network solutions to clients in the Payments and Financial Service Markets that allow them to transact across highly secure, reliable, and high-speed solutions globally. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to develop and excel technically across a multitude of technology platforms that go into providing our best-in-class managed network solutions. The Senior Network Engineer is a highly technical leadership role in the Global Service Delivery organization and is both external and internal customer facing. This role is being made available in our Malaysia office and is ready to be fulfilled now for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

This role has 4 main responsibilities:

  • Technical leadership and end-to-end process ownership for network infrastructure changes across TNS’ backbone and Data Centre infrastructure.
  • Providing design input, validation and approval of new architectural and strategic requirements, liaising with Global Engineering teams as required.
  • Ensuring a smooth transition from project completion to operational support, including creation and modification of detailed technical documentation.
  • Deputising for team leader, assisting with team management and administration and assuming line-management responsibility as required.

The ideal candidate will not only do the job to the highest level of quality but will also proactively look to develop ways of increasing quality and efficiency in how we deliver our services, through change of process and application of automation skills.

Expected Technical Skills:

  • Expert in the design and operation of large scale multiprotocol global IP/ISP networks, aligned with Data Centre technologies.
  • Experience with architecture and provisioning of MPLS networks and services including Traffic Engineering, Carrier Ethernet, MPLS L2 and L3 VPNs, VPLS, Circuit Emulation, IPSec, VPNs, IP Multicast, and QOS/COS.
  • Expertise with routing protocols and redundancy, including:
    • TCP/IP, RSVP, LDP, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, PIM, BFD, and Fast Reroute technologies
    • Current industry WAN technologies/products (SONET, SDH, TDM, Metro Ethernet, etc.)
  • Extensive hands-on experience with the configuration, debugging, and problem resolution of complex Cisco and/or Juniper based networks.
  • Skilled with command-line interfaces and in effective use of various network monitoring and analysis tools such as SolarWinds, SPLUNK, and similar tools.

Qualifications

Other Key Responsibilities:

  • SME technical support to NOC, global peers and other technical teams.
  • Working to a flexible timetable, including out-of-hours working, to remotely support implementation tasks around the world.
  • Build and consolidate professional working relationships with technical peers within customer organisations and the wider TNS community.
  • Provide and receive technical training to promote the sharing of knowledge, locally and globally.
  • Maintaining strict adherence to Change Management policies, providing technical input and analysis to problem tickets as required.

Education and Certification:

  • Educated to Degree standard in a relevant technical subject, for example Computer Science or Telecommunications.
  • 10+ years of design and operations experience in large scale multiprotocol networks.
  • Excellent English language skills.
  • Certified in applicable Cisco, Juniper and Fortinet technologies.
  • ITIL Foundations Certification, additional modules preferred.
