Job Description

Primary Responsibilities: Overseeing production processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and productivity.

Production Volume: 15 million pieces per month.

Production Process: Includes winding, bonding, and assembly, 70% automated & technology + 30% human dependent.

Key Focus Areas:

• Reducing waste and improving efficiency.
• Maintaining and enhancing quality to keep scrap rates under 2%.
• Handling immediate issues on the production floor with analytical and proactive responses.

 Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Management:

• Oversee a team of supervisors and production staff, ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities.
• Address team challenges, promote skill development, and manage performance through coaching and mentoring.

Strategic Planning:

• Develop and execute the production plan aligned with operational targets and company goals.
• Forecast resource requirements (materials, personnel & equipment) and plan for capacity needs based on demand and future projections.

Operational Oversight:

• Monitor daily operations, ensuring production efficiency, adherence to schedules, and minimal downtime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly, using systemic analysis to avoid recurring bottlenecks.

Continuous Improvement:

• Implement Lean or Six Sigma practices to optimize processes and improve productivity.
• Review and analyze production metrics, foster staff engagement in continuous improvement efforts, and implement changes based on feedback and data.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Ensure all products meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations.
• Drive initiatives to uphold ISO or equivalent certifications.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Liaise with engineering, procurement, and quality assurance teams to align production goals.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding progress, challenges, and solutions.

Cost Control:

• Manage production budgets, focus on cost efficiency, control costs, and minimize waste without compromising quality or production targets.

Job Requirements

Leadership Competencies

• At least 5 years of experience leading and managing a production team, with a focus on teamwork and empowerment.
• Ability to adapt leadership styles situationally (e.g., mentoring, consulting, directive) based on team or individual needs, ensuring optimal performance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a hands-on approach to quickly resolve production issues and implement immediate corrective actions.
• Experience in cost reduction strategies such as process optimization, manpower efficiency, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with production continuous improvement practices (e.g., Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma).

Background & Skills

• Engineering-related education, with strong experience in manufacturing production quality, process improvement, and best manufacturing practices.
• Proven success in managing high-mix, high-volume production environments, ideally with experience in winding machines, or similar equipment.
• Experience in RFID card manufacturing & assembly is an added advantage.
• Experience with plastic injection molding is beneficial.
