Job Description

The Software Specialist role focuses on designing, developing, and supporting software products tailored to customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Software Development & Customization:
• Design, develop, and maintain software solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Collaborate with customers to understand their needs for new features or customizations.
• Prepare technical documentation (e.g., customization spec sheets) based on customer feedback.
• Testing & Quality Assurance:
• Develop and maintain test data to support various testing scenarios during software updates or version releases.
• Participate in solution demos for both new and existing customers.
• Collaboration & Problem Solving:
• Work with related departments to improve testing processes for enhanced efficiency.
• Collaborate with the R&D team for software enhancements, customizations, and bug resolution.
• Provide Level 1 (L1) and Level 2 (L2) support, including troubleshooting and data amendments when required (even after office hours for emergencies).
• Shift Work & Ad Hoc Tasks:
• Taking up standby shifts as per the duty roster for user support, including weekends & public holidays.
• Ad Hoc Tasks:
• Take on additional projects as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

•  Education & Experience:
• A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in software development or a related field.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with designing and executing software testing, particularly with SQL.
• Knowledge of software testing, including familiarity with web servers and VM (virtual machine) environments (desirable).
• Familiarity with ISO compliance standards is a plus.
• Communication Skills:
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both written and spoken (in English, Malay and Chinese).
• Ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.
• Autonomous Work Style:
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, though training will be provided.
