TrueStack is looking for a Product Designer (UI/UX & QA) to turn rough requirements into clear, buildable experiences and stay with features through development and release.

You’ll work closely with developers and the product team to design, validate, and ship thoughtful, reliable web products.

Responsibilities

• Turn a rough requirement into a product flow and a specification someone can build
• Work out journeys, states, edge cases, and how the interface should behave before development starts
• Design wireframes, prototypes, and finished UI for our web products
• Keep our products consistent and contribute to the design system
• Sit with developers during implementation, rather than handing over a file and disappearing
• Define what done looks like, then QA the feature on desktop and mobile — behaviour, layout, empty states, validation, and awkward paths
• Write up what is wrong, stay with it until it is fixed, and give the product sign-off before it ships
• Look at what we already ship and say what is not working
• Use AI as part of the work to explore directions, prototype, and catch missing states. The output is a starting point; your judgement is the standard

• Strong product thinking — you care why something exists, not only how it looks
• Solid UI, visual design, UX, and interaction fundamentals
• Take an unclear requirement and turn it into something structured and buildable
• Notice when an implementation is slightly wrong
• Try the strange paths and edge cases, not only the happy path
• Comfortable working with developers and talking through constraints
• Experience designing responsive web applications
• A portfolio of real product work, preferably with the reasoning and flow behind the screens

Bonus Skills

• Written HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, or React, even if you are not a full-time developer
• Can inspect an implementation in the browser and make a small frontend change when that is faster than a ticket
• Used Claude Code or a similar coding agent, or can read a pull request
• Written or worked with Playwright or other frontend tests
• Fintech, lending, or regulated-product experience — useful, not required

Skills
