Working with us at TS Chuan Engineering & Drilling Sdn Bhd, you'll join a practical, hands-on engineering team based in Kajang that delivers water and wastewater treatment projects across Malaysia. We focus on safe, compliant systems that meet client needs and protect communities while keeping projects on schedule.

As a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer, you'll lead project delivery from mobilization through FAT, SAT, commissioning and handover, turning designs into reliable, on-site installations. You will coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers and site crews, manage project schedules, budgets and quality checks, and keep permits and compliance on track. Success looks like finished treatment systems delivered on time, within budget, and handed over with clear technical documentation for operations.

Responsibilities

Project Delivery

• You will lead projects from mobilization through FAT, SAT, commissioning and handover, delivering operation-ready water and wastewater systems with clear technical documentation.
• Manage schedules, budgets and quality checkpoints to keep projects on time and within budget.
• Prepare and review commissioning plans, test protocols and acceptance criteria with suppliers and site teams.

Site Coordination & Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and site crews to resolve technical issues and maintain progress.
• Obtain and track permits, approvals and compliance actions with local regulators and ensure records are up to date.
• Run site meetings, produce progress reports and control changes to scope or design.

Technical Oversight & Quality Control

• Interpret AutoCAD drawings and equipment specifications to verify correct installation and alignment with design intent.
• Oversee onsite testing, diagnose mechanical or instrumentation issues and lead practical troubleshooting during commissioning.
• Coach junior engineers and site staff on workmanship standards, testing procedures and safe working practices.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant project engineering experience, preferably in waterworks, water treatment, wastewater treatment, STP or WTP projects.
• Proven experience with commissioning activities such as FAT and SAT is preferred for senior roles.
• Hands-on experience on site installation, testing or project handover is an advantage.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

• Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent engineering design software; knowledge of SolidWorks is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with equipment specifications, commissioning test protocols and preparing technical handover documents.
• Working knowledge of MS Office for reporting and basic project controls for schedule and budget tracking.
• Comfortable reviewing bills of materials, purchase specs and coordinating technical clarifications with vendors.

Soft Skills & Qualities

• Strong project coordination, problem-solving and technical judgement with a detail-oriented, proactive approach.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with clients, consultants, suppliers and site teams.
• Willingness to travel and perform regular site visits as required by project schedules.
• Ability to work under site conditions while keeping safety and compliance as priorities.
