Role Purpose

This role is about building a solid foundation. You will learn to service, inspect, and repair common vehicle systems so our workshops can deliver consistent, quality work and faster turnaround for customers.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities

Vehicle Maintenance & Repair

• Perform routine servicing such as oil and filter changes, brake pad replacement, and fluid top-ups following service checklists.
• Replace wear items and assist with clutch, suspension, and brake repairs under supervision.
• Follow safety and housekeeping practices to keep bays clean and tools organised.
• Complete work orders and basic paperwork accurately after each job.

Diagnostics & Quality

• Use basic diagnostic tools to read fault codes and report findings to senior technicians.
• Carry out visual and road checks to confirm repairs and ensure vehicles meet safety standards.
• Help with parts identification and report recurring faults for team review.
• Support warranty and recheck procedures by documenting test results and repairs.

Customer & Workshop Collaboration

• Interact politely with customers to note concerns and explain simple service steps in plain language.
• Coordinate with parts and service advisors to ensure timely job progress and parts availability.
• Assist in preparing vehicles for handover and perform final basic inspections before release.
• Participate in short team briefings to align on daily targets and outstanding tasks.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• SPM or equivalent is acceptable, with interest in an automotive career.
• Technical certificate or trade qualification such as SKM in automotive is a plus but not required.
• No prior professional experience required; we welcome fresh graduates and trainees ready to learn on the job.
• Willingness to work workshop shifts and attend on-the-job training sessions.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

• Basic understanding of engine, transmission, brake, and suspension systems gained through study or hands-on practice.
• Familiarity with common hand tools, jacks, lifts, and basic diagnostic scanners is preferred.
• Ability to follow service manuals, checklists, and torque specifications accurately.
• Basic record keeping for service logs and parts used during repairs.
