Job Requirements

Responsibilities

Vehicle Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacement, tyre rotations, and basic brake servicing.
  • Assist with engine checks, fluid top-ups, and simple tune-ups following the workshop checklist.
  • Carry out basic electrical fault checks and replace common components under supervision.
  • Use OBD-II scanners and hand tools to support accurate fault identification and correction.

Service Operations & Customer Care

  • Receive vehicles from customers, record service requests, and update service logs in the workshop system.
  • Communicate clear, polite updates to customers about job status and time estimates.
  • Prepare cars for handover, perform final checks, and ensure the workspace is clean and organised after each job.
  • Report recurring issues or parts shortages to senior technicians to avoid service delays.

Quality, Safety & Workshop Support

  • Follow safety procedures, use PPE, and maintain a tidy, compliant working area at all times.
  • Help inspect incoming spare parts and assist with basic stock counts to keep inventory accurate.
  • Support test drives and post-repair checks to confirm issues are resolved before customer collection.
  • Participate in short training sessions and feedback meetings to improve team standards.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a vehicle workshop or similar role is expected.
  • Vocational certificate, diploma in automotive technology, or equivalent workshop training preferred.
  • Familiarity with common vehicle makes and routine service items is required.
  • Valid driver's licence is preferred to assist with test drives and parts runs.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

  • Proficient with OBD-II diagnostic tools and basic electrical testing equipment.
  • Comfortable using air tools, torque wrenches, and standard hand tools for repairs.
  • Basic knowledge of engine systems, braking systems, suspension, and tyre care.
  • Experience updating service records in a workshop management system or digital logbook.
