The ISD Apprentice Programme brings bright & talented young graduates into the organisation within the Information Services field at the beginning of their careers, with the aim to build and develop an extraordinary pool of future leaders in U Mobile.

• Research, conceive and develop software applications to extend and improve on existing product.
• Contribute to a wide variety of projects using programming language and best practices.
• Implement web interfaces using XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Collaborate on scalability issues involving access to data and information.
• Utilize exposure to large-scale and automatic software troubleshooting.
• Improve code quality and stability.
• Fixed Term Contract for 1 year. 

• Understanding data analytics methodology, machine learning and deep learning
• Understanding business objectives and developing data science solutions that help to achieve business goals, along with metrics to track their progress.
• Help product managers and business stakeholders understand the potential, limitations and results of data science.
• To conceptualize, prototype, design, develop and implement large scale data science solutions on premises or in the cloud.
• Utilizes internal and external data to generate features, derive insight, visualize pattern, and support impactful decision-making.
• Develop and implement advanced analytics use cases with machine learning, graph database, search engine, geographical information system and artificial intelligence to yield business value from data.
• Implement predictive modeling, multivariate analysis, research design, association rules, time series analysis, survival analysis, forecasting and optimization techniques to formulate and solve data analysis problems.
• Understanding the challenges of explainable machine learning and artificial intelligence, applying modern explainable methods to measure their fairness.
• Fixed Term Contract for 1 year. 

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Information Technology holder with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 or its equivalent.
• Uploaded Video Cover Letter in Hiredly profile together with Resume (applications without Video Cover Letter will NOT be considered)
• Less than 2 years of working experience.

• Hands-on data mining or data science experience.
• Proficiency with SQL for querying and managing data in relational databases.
• Proficiency with Python-based libraries for data science such as scikit-learn, numpy, scipy, pandas, statsmodel, matplotlib, tensorflow or pytorch.
• Knowledge of other coding languages such as Shell Script and Java.

• Publications in major ML/NLP conferences or journal.
• Participation in Kaggle or similar competitions.
• Participation in Hackathon event(s).
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience with natural language processing, image processing, graph analysis or GIS.
• Experience with scalable framework, such as Dask, Ray, CUDA or Spark.
• Experience with real-time processing framework, such as Kafka.
• Experience with cloud-based environments such as AWS, GCP or Azure.

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience with Data Structures or Algorithms from university, an internship, open source hobby coding, or other practical experience.
• Coding experience in one of the following programming languages: C++, Java or Python.
• Coding experience in of the following scripting languages: JavaScript, Bash Shell or PowerShell.

• Participation in coding competition(s).
• Participation in Hackathon event(s).
• Publications in major Computer Science conferences or journal.
• Experience with CPU and GPU optimization.
• Experience with one or more of the following: web application development, Unix/Linux, mobile application development, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, developing large software systems, and/or security software development.
