Job Description

 

1. Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee full set of accounts including AP, AR, GL, and bank reconciliation.
     
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and cash flow reports.
     
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
     
  • Ensure timely closing of monthly and yearly accounts.
     

2. Compliance & Regulatory Matters

  • Ensure compliance with Companies Act, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
     
  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretary, and relevant authorities (e.g., LHDN, SSM, EPF, SOCSO, HRD Corp).
     
  • Manage annual audit process and tax submission.
     
  • Ensure proper internal controls and financial policies are in place.
     

3. Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Monitor company cash flow and forecast financial requirements.
     
  • Manage banking facilities, financing arrangements, and loan documentation.
     
  • Ensure timely payment to suppliers and collection from clients.
     

4. Cost Control & Financial Planning

  • Develop and monitor annual budgets.
     
  • Review project costing, margins, and financial feasibility.
     
  • Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to Management.
     

5. Team Management

  • Supervise accounts staff and ensure proper task delegation.
     
  • Provide guidance and training to finance team members.
     
  • Improve accounting systems and workflow efficiency.
     

6. Project & Contract Financial Monitoring (If Contractor Company)

  • Monitor project budgets and progress claims.
     
  • Review subcontractor payments and retention sums.
     
  • Ensure proper documentation for claims and variation orders.

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
     
  • Professional qualification (ACCA / CPA / MIA) is an added advantage.
     
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant working experience.
     
  • Experience in construction/engineering industry is preferred.
     
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian financial regulations and taxation.
     
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
     
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
