ASSISTANT PURCHASING MANAGER (F&B Industry)

Salary range: RM4,000 – RM4,400 per month

Job description:

We are looking for an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Assistant Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement operations. In this role, you will drive sourcing strategies, optimize supply chain costs, maintain strict compliance standards, and lead team efforts to support our growing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Procurement & Cost Management: Develop and execute category procurement strategies. Source, negotiate, and secure optimal pricing, quality, and terms while driving continuous cost-saving initiatives and managing monthly budget allocations relative to sales.
• Supplier & Relationship Management: Build strong vendor relationships, conduct regular supplier performance reviews, and establish sustainable sourcing networks to ensure supply chain resilience.
• End-to-End Purchasing Operations: Oversee overseas, seasonal, and on-demand purchasing. Manage requisitions, price comparisons, order processing, and month-end inventory stock counts and balance analyses.
• Compliance & Audits: Ensure all purchased materials strictly comply with Halal, HACCP, and quality standards. Prepare documentation and support both internal and external audits.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Central Kitchen, Finance, and Outlet Managers to fulfill operational needs and support new product rollouts.
• Reporting & Leadership: Manage and mentor the procurement team, submit monthly purchasing reports by the 6th of each month, and handle ad-hoc operational tasks as needed.

Job Requirements

 Requirements & Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Food Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management—preferably within the F&B, Central Kitchen, or FMCG industries.
• Compliance Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Halal standards, HACCP requirements, and local food safety regulations.
• Skills: Proven negotiation, vendor management, and cost-analysis capabilities with a strong problem-solving mindset.
• Leadership & Autonomy: Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently, manage a team, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
