UOB Innovation Hub 2 (InnoHub 2) is a newly set up technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of UOB Group Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation. 

About the Department

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. We work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Singapore and overseas branches.

Job Responsibilities

You will be overall accountable and responsible for delivery of projects, change request and L3 support under Bank’s Compliance Technology domain. This includes analysis and design to development, implementation, testing and support.
As the domain lead, you will also be responsible for quality assurance of the team delivery in conformance to the Bank-defined software delivery methodology and tools. You will partner closely with the Compliance Technology leads to plan and manage transitioned deliverables.


Other responsibilities include:

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day delivery of performance by in-house team or Bank appointed vendors in the software build, test and deploy processes.
  • Engages with various UOB stakeholders (including but not limited to, application, security, infrastructure, business, testing) to ensure deliverables meet the banks’ objectives and demand.
  • Quantify, manage, track and report delivery related statuses, SLA and KPIs, and ensure that defined SLA and KPI targets are met for the portfolio accountable.
  • Drive and collaborate with all UOB stakeholders to plan all deliverables for the portfolio accountable.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with the in-house team and product Vendor for the respective domains.
  • Engages stakeholder communities to get their feedback on delivery and identify improvement opportunities to be fed back to the center.
  • Drives costs out of the system by leveraging automation, process efficiency and tools optimization techniques.
  • Emphasize the creation, active management, and reporting of departmental performance metrics. Supports strategy to best leverage people resources.
  • Develop and maintain the communication plan and roadmap for the team.
  • Build, mentor and inspire a high-performing team of compliance technology professionals, fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Accountable for overseeing team budget management and work estimation management.
  • Providing insight, measurement, accountability and a positive working environment

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar domain; Additional professional/technical qualifications will be advantageous although not mandatory
  • Proven working experience in project delivery or equivalent role with at least 10 years’ relevant experience in large and complex organizations preferably in the area of Banking and Finance.
  • Proven experience in implementing compliance systems/upgrades.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Expertise in working in complex environment with integration multiple downstream and MQ's.
  • Comfortability with management reporting and presentations.
  • Cultivate, support, and promote an organizational culture that provides for high performance, high morale, integrity, and teamwork.
  • Experience working in Waterfall / Agile environment.
  • Expertise within forecasting, requirement gathering, delivery execution, timeline creation, etc.
  • Comfortable working with individuals/teams on a global scale.
  • Demonstrated success in developing highly effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver collaboration, partnerships and services.
  • Excellent knowledge on compliance/AML processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of modern DevOps practices related to software build, test and deploy processes.
  • Experience managing headcount, including recruiting and retention and budget.
  • Proven leadership in people management, mentoring and helping career growth of engineers, creating leads across teams and empowering team with constantly raising the bar.
  • Strong attention to details, excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in managing multi-cultural, diverse, direct and virtual teams.
  • Experience in various tool suites like JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, Excel, Visio etc.
  • Must display a high level of professional judgment, commitment, integrity, and teamwork.
  • Excellent client facing, internal communications, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with working in multi-sourced, offshore delivery centers, and shared services environment.
