Programme Overview
The Financial Sector Talent Enrichment Programme (FSTEP) is a 3 + 9-month intensive graduate training programme, designed to equip talent with the right skills and knowledge for their transition into the financial services industry. UOB Malaysia is committed to recruiting and developing a team of trainees who will be coached to excel within the bank.
This position is open for immediate hiring, and we are seeking candidates who can join our team promptly to contribute to our ongoing projects. Please note that only shortlisted candidates are contacted for the next stage of applications.
Job Requirements
Job Responsibilities
- Participate in the 3‑month FSTEP training programme and 9‑month on‑the-job attachment with UOB Malaysia.
- Support daily operations within the assigned business unit (e.g., Retail Banking, Operations, Compliance, Technology & Operations, or Corporate Banking).
- Assist in data analysis, reporting, and preparation of documents or presentations as required by the team.
- Collaborate with managers and team members to drive small projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Learn and apply banking fundamentals, digital tools, and regulatory requirements relevant to the role.
- Deliver high-quality work within given timelines while demonstrating strong teamwork and professionalism.
- Engage in FSTEP learning activities, assessments, and networking sessions throughout the programme.
- Contribute ideas, show curiosity, and display a growth mindset aligned with UOB’s values and culture.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any background
- Less than 2 years of working experience
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, on the job training will be provided
- Keen interest in financial market, passion for dealing in stocks and shares
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in fast-paced market environments
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with internal and external stakeholders
- Able to work independently, a team player, high achiever and target driven
- Basic knowledge in treasury products including fixed income, foreign exchange instruments such as Spot, Options, Swaps, Forwards and interest rate derivatives
