Job Description

As a Video Editing Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working within a dynamic creative team. You will support the video production process by assisting with editing and post-production tasks, creating high-quality content for a variety of platforms. This internship is ideal for individuals looking to expand their skills in video editing, motion graphics, and video content creation. You will collaborate closely with experienced professionals and contribute to real-world projects.

Job Requirements

 Key Responsibilities:

1. Video Editing:

• Edit raw footage into polished, engaging videos according to provided briefs and project specifications.
• Assemble video footage, audio, and graphics to create compelling final videos.
• Apply color correction, audio adjustments, and other technical edits as needed.
• Ensure that video content meets the technical and creative standards set by the team.

1. Post-Production Support:

• Organize and manage video files and assets (footage, audio, graphics, etc.) for easy access and smooth workflow.
• Assist in the creation and integration of motion graphics, transitions, and visual effects.
• Implement feedback from senior editors and creative directors to refine video content.
• Ensure video edits are delivered on time, within the required specifications, and with high attention to detail.
• Opportunity to deal directly with clients where deemed fit.

1. Collaboration & Teamwork:

• Work closely with the senior video editors, producers, and other members of the creative team.
• Attend team meetings and participate in creative brainstorming sessions.
• Communicate clearly with the team regarding project timelines, challenges, and progress.

1. Content Optimization for Various Platforms:

• Edit videos optimized for different platforms, such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and websites.
• Assist in formatting and resizing videos to meet platform-specific requirements (e.g., aspect ratios, resolutions, and file sizes).
• Ensure videos adhere to brand guidelines and are aligned with platform trends.

1. Project Management Assistance:

• Support the project management team in maintaining schedules, tracking project milestones, and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Assist in organizing project files and documents for efficient collaboration and sharing.

1. Creative Input & Problem Solving:

• Offer creative ideas and suggestions to improve the video production process.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to video editing software and media files.
• Learn and implement best practices in video storytelling, pacing, and audio design.

1. Skills & Requirements:

• Education: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree or certification in Film, Media Production, Communications, or a related field.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar).
• Familiarity with other software tools such as Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, or Illustrator for graphics and animations is a plus.
• Strong understanding of video file formats, resolutions, and compression methods.
• Creative Skills:
• Strong sense of storytelling and understanding of visual composition.
• Ability to work with a variety of content types, including interviews, tutorials, promotional videos, and social media clips.
• Knowledge of color grading, audio mixing, and basic motion graphics is an advantage.
• Organizational Skills:
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency across all video edits.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Communication:
• Ability to take direction and feedback, as well as provide constructive input during team discussions. Ask relevant questions that may assist with the creative process too.
• Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.

Additional Qualifications (Preferred but Not Required):

• Previous internship or freelance experience in video editing or content creation.
• Familiarity with social media trends and platform-specific video requirements.
• A basic understanding of copyright laws related to music, video clips, and other media.
• Interest in a career in video production, digital media, or content creation.
