Role purpose

This role is the backbone of our daily store rhythm. You will make sure the shop runs smoothly, customers leave satisfied, and the team can do their best work every shift.

Your Growth & Impact

• Build experience in front-line retail operations that prepares you for supervisory roles within 12 to 24 months.
• Strengthen customer relations skills through daily face-to-face service and upsell opportunities.
• Develop practical stock and merchandising skills by managing inventory cycles and visual displays.
• Gain familiarity with Point Of Sale systems and basic sales reporting to support store decisions.
• Expand your network by working closely with store managers, suppliers, and regular customers.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities

Customer Experience

• Greet customers warmly and offer product guidance in a friendly, patient manner.
• Process sales and returns accurately using the Point Of Sale system and handle cash or card payments.
• Resolve basic customer issues on the spot and escalate more complex concerns to the manager.
• Follow up on special orders or stock requests to keep customers informed.

Store Operations

• Open and close the store following standard procedures and daily checklists.
• Maintain tidiness of the sales floor and backroom to create a safe shopping environment.
• Perform daily cash counts and reconcile till discrepancies with the manager.
• Support merchandising changes and promotions to maximise product visibility.

Stock & Visual

• Receive deliveries, check items against invoices, and update inventory records.
• Conduct regular stock counts and report variances to help reduce shrinkage.
• Set up displays and restock shelves to maintain planogram standards.
• Prepare simple stock reports and assist with ordering suggestions based on sales trends.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of retail or customer-facing experience, ideally in in-store sales.
• Secondary school certificate or equivalent qualification preferred but not mandatory.
• Available to work retail shifts including weekends and public holidays as scheduled.
• Previous experience working with a small store team or family-like SME is an advantage.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

• Comfortable using Point Of Sale systems and basic cash handling procedures.
• Knowledge of inventory management basics, stock counts, and simple ordering processes.
• Proficient with basic computer tasks, including email and simple Excel for stock lists.
• Familiarity with visual merchandising principles and promotional setups.

Soft Skills & Qualities

• Strong communication and a friendly approach to customers and teammates.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow store procedures consistently.
• Detail oriented when handling cash, stock counts, and till reconciliation.
• Willing to learn, accept feedback, and take on additional tasks during busy periods.
