Retail Associate – GABRIEL Malaysia

About GABRIEL

GABRIEL is one of China's leading premium plush toy and lifestyle brand known for its distinctive designs, high-quality materials and emotionally engaging products (350+ stores in China and started expanding internationally). As we launch our first retail store in Malaysia, we are looking for friendly, energetic and customer-focused Retail Associates to join our founding team.

The Role

As a Retail Associate, you will be the face of GABRIEL in-store, creating a welcoming and memorable experience for every customer.

You will assist customers with product selection, drive sales, maintain attractive product displays and support the smooth day-to-day operation of the store.

Key Responsibilities

● Welcome and engage customers in a friendly and professional manner.

● Understand customers’ needs and recommend suitable GABRIEL products.

● Develop strong product knowledge and communicate product features, collections and stories to customers.

● Work towards individual and store sales targets.

● Support upselling and cross-selling in a natural, customer-focused manner.

● Operate the POS system and process cash, card and digital payments accurately.

● Assist with stock receiving, replenishment and inventory counts.

● Ensure products are properly displayed, priced and maintained according to GABRIEL’s visual merchandising standards.

● Keep the store clean, organised and visually appealing.

● Assist with product launches, promotions, events and other in-store activities.

● Work closely with the Retail Supervisor and other team members to ensure smooth store operations.

● Provide customer feedback and product requests to the supervisor/management.

Requirements

● Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred, but enthusiastic candidates with the right attitude are welcome to apply.

● Friendly, confident and comfortable engaging with customers.

● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

● Sales-oriented with a positive and proactive attitude.

● Responsible, punctual and able to work well as part of a team.

● Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is an advantage.

● Comfortable working retail shifts, weekends and public holidays.

● Interest in plush toys, collectibles, lifestyle products or character brands is an advantage.

Job Requirements

• SPM, Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in retail, sales or customer service is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
• Friendly, approachable and confident in engaging with customers.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer-focused with an interest in sales and delivering excellent service.
• Positive, proactive and responsible attitude.
• Well-groomed with a professional appearance.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Able to communicate in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an added advantage.
• Comfortable using basic POS and digital systems; training will be provided.
• Willing to work retail shifts.
• Interest in plush toys, collectibles, lifestyle products or character brands is an advantage.
