Job Summary

Ready to lead the first retail store for a premium plush and lifestyle brand in Malaysia? Working with us at Vinerock Retail Sdn Bhd, you will bring our tactile, design-led products to life in-store and introduce our aesthetic to local customers. We care about thoughtful presentation, warm customer moments, and building a repeat customer base as we establish the brand.

As our pioneer Store Manager you will build the store from the ground up, set daily routines, refine SOPs, train the team, and shape in-store rituals that match our brand. You will collaborate with central ops and marketing to pilot launches, seasonal activations, and sales approaches that we can scale across Malaysia. You will also help define staffing models, opening checklists, and customer service standards used across future stores.

Your Growth & Impact

• Advance your leadership by running full store operations, managing daily reporting, and coaching staff to meet sales and service KPIs. This role gives you full ownership of store performance metrics and coaching outcomes.
• Develop practical retail systems by documenting SOPs, improving opening and closing routines, and owning inventory accuracy processes.
• Expand your brand and merchandising skills through hands-on product launches, seasonal displays, and in-store activations.
• Build cross-functional relationships with merchandising, marketing, and operations, giving you exposure to wider business decisions and future openings. That exposure positions you to influence how we open and staff new stores.
• Gain visible career progression as the pioneer manager, with clear opportunities to move into area management or operations roles as we grow.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Store Operations & Sales
  • Manage day-to-day store operations, including opening/closing procedures, POS, cash management, and daily reporting
  • Drive sales performance against store targets and KPIs; track daily, weekly, and monthly results
  • Deliver a consistently excellent, welcoming customer experience
• Team Leadership
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and coach retail staff; prepare schedules and manage manpower
  • Set clear sales and service expectations; give regular performance feedback
• Brand & Customer Experience
  • Represent the brand and ensure consistent presentation in-store
  • Build relationships with customers to drive repeat purchases, and feed customer insights back to management
  • Support new product launches, seasonal campaigns, and in-store activations
• Inventory & Merchandising
  • Manage stock receiving, replenishment, and stock counts; minimise discrepancies and losses
  • Ensure visual merchandising standards are met and the store stays commercially effective
• New Store & Business Development
  • Help establish SOPs and operating standards for the brand in Malaysia
  • Provide practical insights on products, pricing, and store performance to support future store openings

Requirements:

• Must-have
  • At least 3 years of retail experience, including supervisory or store management experience
  • Track record of hitting sales targets
  • Comfortable working retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
  • Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Nice-to-have
  • Experience in lifestyle, fashion, beauty, toys/collectibles, gifts, or premium consumer retail
  • Exposure to brand or marketing work (campaigns, visual merchandising standards, promotions)
  • Mandarin proficiency
  • Comfortable with POS systems and basic Microsoft Office / Google Workspace tools
