Job Description

As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of our company's backend systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs using NestJS and Node.js
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, designers, and product stakeholders to ensure seamless backend-frontend integration
• Build efficient REST, GraphQL, and gRPC APIs, including streaming protocols where needed
• Implement robust microservices architecture with focus on resilience, scalability, and performance
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring high availability, data consistency, and optimal query performance
• Integrate and manage message brokers like Kafka, Redis Pub/Sub, or RabbitMQ for event-driven architectures
• Handle file processing and streaming workflows, including video/audio/file transformation pipelines
• Optimize backend services for performance, reliability, and security
• Conduct code reviews and mentor team members on best practices
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical planning
• Utilize cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for deploying, scaling, and monitoring backend services
• Stay current with emerging backend technologies, protocols, and engineering practices
• Leverage AI-enhanced developer tools like Cursor, Trae, or MCP to boost development efficiency

Job Requirements

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• Proven experience as a Backend Developer with NestJS, Node.js, and TypeScript
• Solid understanding of REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and event streaming protocols
• Experience designing and managing SQL (e.g. PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB, Redis) databases
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, Redis, or other message queues
• Strong grasp of backend architecture patterns such as microservices, monoliths, and service orchestration
• Experience handling file uploads, media encoding, or file streaming
• Experience with CI/CD, version control (Git), and Agile practices
• Bonus: 
• Familiar with infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and deploying apps to cloud environments
• Familiarity with AI development workflows including RAG, embedding models, LangChain, vector DBs, or LLM inference
• Familiar using AI-powered code tools/editors like Cursor, Trae, or MCP
