Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Residential Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize the IT infrastructure systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in server administration, web and DNS configuration, and IT security management.
Responsibilities:
- Server Administration: Manage both Linux and Windows Server environments, including user administration, file systems, and command-line tasks.
- Web Server Configuration: Configure and maintain web servers such as Apache, Nginx, TOMCAT JAVA, or IIS. Manage virtual hosts, SSL certificates, and optimize server performance.
- Networking and DNS: Handle IP address management, DNS records (A, CNAME, MX), and ensure stable network connectivity and domain configurations.
- Control Panel Management: Administer hosting control panels such as cPanel, Plesk, and WHM for managing accounts, emails, databases, and files.
- Database Management: Create, manage, back up, and restore databases, typically with MySQL.
- Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures such as firewalls, SSH hardening, monitoring logs, and keeping software systems patched.
- Backup and Recovery: Automate backup processes and manage restoration procedures for data integrity and system reliability.
- Scripting and Automation: Develop and execute automation scripts in Bash, Python, or PHP to streamline routine administrative tasks.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in system administration or infrastructure engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows environments.
- Experience in hosting or data center environments is an advantage.
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with virtualization and cloud technologies (e.g.,VMware, AWS, Azure).
- Experience with monitoring tools and system performance optimization.
- Understanding of ITIL or similar frameworks is a plus.
