Job Description
The Sales Engineer (Electrical / TNB-Focused) plays a critical role in driving technical sales and pre-sales activities for electrical fuses and related products, with a strong focus on Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) projects and the utility sector.
This position requires a professional who can bridge engineering knowledge with commercial execution, ensuring all proposals, technical submissions, and product offerings comply with TNB standards, specifications, and industry best practices, while building long-term client relationships and supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Sales & Pre-Sales Engineering
Promote and sell electrical fuses and related products for TNB, utility, and infrastructure projects
Review tender documents, technical specifications, drawings, and scope of work
Prepare technical proposals, compliance statements, and technical submissions in line with TNB requirements
Evaluate product specifications to ensure technical suitability and regulatory compliance
TNB & Utility Market Engagement
Manage and develop relationships with TNB personnel, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders
Participate in technical meetings, discussions, and clarification sessions
Provide product knowledge, technical clarification, and solution-based recommendations
Commercial & Client Management
Support pricing discussions, negotiations, and commercial alignment with management
Prepare quotations and follow up on proposals and tenders
Maintain accurate sales and project records in CRM systems
Internal Coordination & Documentation
Coordinate with internal teams (operations, logistics, procurement, quality) to ensure timely delivery and documentation
Ensure accuracy and completeness of all technical and sales documentation
Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS)
Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline
2–5 years of relevant experience in:
Sales Engineering
Technical Sales / Pre-Sales
Electrical engineering or technical support roles
Strong preference for candidates with hands-on exposure to TNB projects, utility works, or electrical infrastructure
Good understanding of TNB standards, specifications, approval processes, and industry practices Familiarity with electrical fuses, protection devices, or related electrical products is an advantage
