Job Description

Production support - Management and Project Planning

Production Coordination

  • Develops, implements and oversees production schedule and modifies job orders for optimal production efficiency within manufacturing environment
  • Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely execution and alignment with customer expectations.
  • Perform regular follow-ups with all teams to expedite the smooth flow of materials and documents, ensuring alignments with production schedules and meeting customer expectations
  • Ensure daily production requirements are achieve to meet customer expectations and maintain operational efficiency
  • Monitoring production schedules to identify potential delays or issues and expedite orders to meet delivery commitments
  • Oversee planning and monitoring of FMEA / PFMEA for production processes to identify and mitigate potential failure modes. 
  • Manage and review First Article Inspection (FAI) reports to ensure compliance with engineering and customer requirements.
  • Interpret engineering drawings using SOLIDWORKS (or similar CAD software) to support production planning, tooling verification, and technical assessments.

Project Planning (Flow Management)

  • Manage and optimize flow of production processes to ensure efficiency and timely delivery
  • Collaborate with Operation Manager to develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets and resource requirements
  • Monitor progress and implement adjustments to ensure timely project delivery

Resource Management

  • Allocate and optimize resources, including personnel, equipment and materials to meet project requirements
  • Verify components listed on work orders to ensure the correct number of components is available for production
  • Work cross-functionally to communicate initiative with management, sales, purchasing and other relevant departments to ensure customer commitments align with production and to secure necessary resources
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to address any shortages or discrepancies

Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks and challenges associated with the project
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to ensure project success and compliance
  • Identify potential technical or process risks through structured FMEA methodologies.

Technical Oversight & Budget Management

  • Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring cost-effective throughout project life cycle.
  • Collaborate with technical experts and cross-functional teams (Quality, Engineering, and Production) to address engineering challenges, ensure technical excellence, and maintain process control
  • Review and validate technical specifications for materials, equipment, and production processes to ensure compliance with industry best practices and quality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability according to ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements.
  • Utilize SOLIDWORKS models and technical drawings to support design validation, manufacturability reviews and engineering change processes.

Team Coordination & Stakeholder Communication

  • Lead and coordinate project teams, ensuring clear communication and collaboration among team member
  • Communicate project status, updates and technical information to team members and stakeholders
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including operation managers, engineers, quality teams and other stakeholders
  • Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders, providing updates on project status, milestones and any deviations from the process plan

Quality Assurance

  • Implement and maintain ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management systems within project scope.
  • Perform quality checks and inspections on the production line and reviews to verify compliance with project requirements and quality criteria.
  • Review work orders to understand assembly instructions and project requirements.
  • Ensure project deliverable meet or exceed established quality standards and specifications.
  • Support internal and external quality audits related to ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
  • Ensure all engineering and production processes adhere to quality assurance and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform and document Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to ensure preventive actions are in place.
  • Review and validate FAI reports for new parts, assemblies, or revisions, ensuring first-run compliance.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Identify and escalate production issues promptly to Head of Department or Manager.
  • Prepare, maintain and review project documentation, including drawing documents, technical specifications, progress reports, FMEA/PFMEA records, FAI reports, and quality verification reports.
  • Generate operational reports and project status reports as requested by management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with ISO 9001 / AS9100 requirements and customer quality standards.
  • Engage with customer complaints promptly and efficiently, ensuring appropriate solution is provided.

Project Support

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in project execution
  • Implement lessons learned from previous projects to enhance future project execution
  • Implement and execute organization management system procedures
  • May be assigned to perform other duties at a lower level or higher level of proficiency

Procurement Support

  • Oversee and coordinate all activities related to ordering materials, goods or services in both production and office settings
  • Ensure adherence to proper purchasing procedures
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating potential suppliers / vendors
  • Assist in interpreting engineering drawings from existing customers, facilitating preparation of accurate purchase order
  • Assist in comparing quotations in collaboration with managers prior confirmation
  • Ensure the prevention of counterfeit items being purchased
  • Engage with customer complaints promptly and efficiently, ensuring appropriate solution is provided

Sales Technical Support

  • Submit orders by conferring with sales executive / directors, assessing and costing engineering changes
  • Assist in the design of mechanical parts
  • Provide technical assistance to customers, sales team and other stakeholders
  • Address inquiries related to product specifications, features and technical capabilities
  • Assist in the resolution of post-sales technical issues, working closely with customers and engineering team to address concerns
  • Collaborate with sales team to ensure alignment on technical aspects of customer orders and address technical issues or challenges during the sales process
  • Provide ongoing support to sales representatives, addressing technical queries and concern
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to align technical and sales strategies

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer or related role
  • Fresh graduate is welcome to take the challenge for bright future career
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in project engineering / technical support within manufacturing
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing FMEA / PFMEA and FAI reports.
  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, timeline management and resource allocation
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies (planning, execution, and completion of projects)
  • Knowledge of quality control processes and production optimization
  • Strong understanding of quality control processes, process improvement methodologies (5S, Lean, Kaizen).
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management systems
  • Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Possess any relevant professional certifications
  • Required language(s) : Bahasa Malaysia, English
