Job Description

Established international insurance broking company seeks a meticulous and highly analytical Senior Accounting Executive to join the Finance team, responsible for managing financial reporting, reconciliations, premium and commission accounting, regulatory compliance, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient and compliant financial processes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to :

  • Handle full spectrum of accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and supporting schedules accurately and within deadlines.
  • Assist in budgeting, cash flow monitoring and financial forecasting activities.
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory reports, tax schedules and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers and relevant authorities.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Manage insurer and client account reconciliations related to insurance broking transactions.
  • Assist in commission computations, premium collection monitoring and credit control functions.
  • Support process improvements and finance-related projects to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior finance team members where required.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum 6 - 8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within insurance broking, insurance, financial services or professional services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation and financial reporting requirements in Malaysia.
  • Experience in handling insurance-related accounting transactions will be an added advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Meticulous, responsible and able to work independently under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
